Vision

TaKaDu brings concepts and solutions from the IT and Communication worlds into the water realm. TaKaDu takes novel approaches for network management and monitoring, marries them with the advantages of Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), and applies them to water distribution networks.

25-30% of the world’s water production is lost. This is known as Non-Revenue Water (NRW). Two-thirds of NRW is due to real losses, the result of invisible leaks and large bursts. The remaining third, unaccounted-for water (UFW), is due to operational issues such as faulty meters or water theft.
According to the World Bank, in some countries NRW makes up 50-60% of the water supply, and invisible leaks account for more than 90% of the total volume of real losses.

Lowering water loss is not just about conserving water and lowering water contamination. It also saves energy. The water sector is typically a country's largest energy consumer, since transporting water is a heavy task. So optimizing the water network means energy savings and better allocation of public funds.

TaKaDu's Water Infrastructure Monitoring is a novel approach for understanding and acting upon the ‘behavior’ of the water network.
It automatically locates and classifies water-network events as early as possible. There are multiple sources of raw data: online sensor data (flow and pressure), network operations data, network structure (GIS) and external data (e.g. weather, holidays, scheduled fixes).
TaKaDu’s patent-pending solution uses multiple anchors for data analytics: complex periodic patterns, cross-site correlation, graph structure, event behavior over time and space, pressure-flow relations and several other statistical anchors.

TaKaDu researchers are a team of top-notch Mathematicians and Computer Science PhDs with a shared vision of reducing water loss. Its executive team is comprised of veterans of NASDAQ 100 companies. TaKaDu's investors are Gemini Israel Funds and Giza Venture Capital.

TaKaDu is a 2011 Technology Pioneer of the World Economic Forum.

TaKaDu's mission is to offer utilities Water Infrastructure Monitoring so they can reduce Non-Revenue Water, both real losses and apparent losses, and better manage their network. TaKaDu’s unmatched Software-as-a-Service solution requires no physical network changes or capital expenditures. The solution, based on patent-pending mathematical and statistical algorithms, uses existing network data (flow, pressure, quality, etc.). TaKaDu's solution also tracks water quality metrics, such as chlorine and turbidity levels.  TaKaDu's solution is fully operational with utilities and partners in Europe, Australia, Latin America, Israel and the US.
