The Artemis Project on June 8 revealed the identities of the companies that earned the right to be included in its Top 50 Water Companies for 2010.

For its second annual competition, The Artemis Project gathered recommendations from water equipment companies, partners, investors, water utilities and enterprise water users it works with and then invited the most promising advanced water technology companies to apply for the competition.
This year's judges were Victor D'Amato, P.E., Tetra Tech; Paul Gagliardo, manager of innovation development at American Water; Paul O'Callaghan, chief executive officer of O2 Environmental Inc.; Gayle Pergamit, co-founder of Agua Via LLC; Rengarajan Ramesh, chief architect of Angstroms; Andrew Salveson, licensed engineer with Carollo Engineers; Laura Shenkar, founder and principal of The Artemis Project; and Jerry Yudelson, green building expert of Yudelson Associates.
The judges evaluated entrants on the basis of market potential, technology, intellectual property, team membership and other factors critical to success. The decisions were based on materials provided the judges in each company's application.
According to the Website, companies are graded based on their potential to rapidly develop a strong leadership position in the water industry and sustain high profitability over the long-term.
